Abstract

Pakcoy plants (brassica rappa L.) is a type of plant that is relatively easy to cultivate because this plant can be planted in all seasons, both rainy and dry seasons and can grow well in the lowlands to the highlands. One of the factors in the cultivation of pakcoy plants in order to increase growth and maximum production results is by selecting a good planting medium. The research aimed to determine the efficiency of water storage and the yield of pakcoy (brassica rappa L.) on soil and husk charcoal using emitter stick drip irrigation. The parameters observed were water storage efficiency, number of leaves, fresh weight of stalks, dry weight of stalks, and dry weight of roots. The research method used is an experimental method arranged in a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) pattern. The results showed that the composition of the soil planting medium and rice husk charcoal had a significant effect on water storage efficiency and fresh weight of stalks, but didn’t significantly affect the number of leaves, dry weight of stalks, and dry weight of roots. The A4 treatment was the best treatment with the highest average water storage efficiency is 86.52% and the highest average production of pakcoy plants with 17.6 leaves, fresh weight 165.98 g of staggers, the dry weight of the stems was 8.53 g, and the dry weight of the roots was 1.30 g.
