Abstract

The purposes of this research were (1) to measure farmer’s perception of performance agricultural extension officer at Suka Mulya Village Palembang City, (2) to analyze behavior of farmer’s in vegetable farming at Suka Mulya Village Palembang City, (3) to analyze the correlation between farmer’s perception of performance agricultural extension officer to behavior of farmer’s in vegetable farming at Suka Mulya Village Palembang City. The research was conducted in Suka Mulya Village, Palembang City. Site selection is done intentionally. Data was collecting was conducted in Oktober 2017 to Desember 2017. The research used survey method, with the sampling method used is simple random sampling method. The results showed that the measurement of farmer’s perceptions of performance agricultural extension officer at Suka Mulya Village based on three indicators of preparation of counseling, methods of extension implementation, and evaluation extension report gain an avarage total score 26,56 in medium criteria. While to analyze behavior of vegetable farmer’s at Suka Mulya Village based on three indicators of knowledge, attitude, and skill gain an avarage total score 190,66 in high criteria. The results of data analysis using Spearman rank available significant value 0,000 < 0,01 its means significant available between performance agricultural extension officer with behavior of horticulture farmer’s, and value of correlation coefficient obtained at 0,615 is positive, its means the level of relationship between farmer’s perception on performance agricultural extension officer about alsintan assistance to behavior of vegetable farmer’s is high criteria and the relationship of two variables in the same direction.
