Abstract

The objectives of this study were (1) Knowing the conditions of internal and external factors in the development of the kemplang cracker home industry in Kayuagung District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency (2) Analyzing the income of the kemplang cracker household industry in Kayuagung District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency (3) Analyzing the development strategy in the kemplang cracker home industry in Kayuagung District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. The research was conducted in Kayuagung Subdistrict, the determination of the location was done deliberately (purposive sampling location) with the consideration that Kayuagung District is one of the producers of kemplang crackers in South Sumatra Province, and local people in this area have run the business of kemplang cracker processing industry from generation to generation as well as the main livelihood. . This research was conducted in March 2020. Primary and secondary data were collected. The research method used was the survey method. The results of the research that has been done can develop (1) the condition of internal factors in the kemplang cracker industry which is measured through 4 aspects which are in a total score of 29.3 with high criteria. The external factor condition of the kemplang cracker industry development is measured through 4 aspects which are in a total score of 24.6 with moderate criteria. (2) The income of the kemplang cracker industry at one time is Rp3.794.714. (3) Based on the SWOT analysis which consists of the SO strategy, WT strategy, WO strategy and ST strategy, several strategies should be implemented, namely building kemplang cracker industrial areas, increasing the role and support of local governments, increasing cooperation, creating regulations related to small industrial development, improving and increasing coaching and training, forming small industrial groups such as cooperatives and clusters, improving the quality of product packaging and product promotion with training, developing appropriate technology to increase production efficiency. (4) The IE matrix results for the kemplang cracker industry in Kayuagung District are in quadrant V which means maintain and maintain. A suitable strategy is market penetration and product development. Keywords: external factors, income, internal factors, kemplang cracker industry.
