Abstract

This study entitled "Relationship Maintenance in Husband and Wife Interpersonal Communication (Case Study of Divorce Mediation at the Religious Courts Class 1A Palembang City)" which raises the issue of how to maintain interpersonal relationships and communication between husbands and wives. This study aims to determine how communication is established between spouses in the household as well as the maintenance of their long-term relationship, in order to reduce the number of divorces that continues to increase every year in South Sumatra Province, especially in Palembang City. The theory used in this study uses the theory of Relationship Maintenance and Interpersonal Communication based on theories related to maintaining long-term relationships (marriage). The data obtained were obtained from data that went directly to the field, observation, and in-depth interviews with sources related to divorce, so that the results of the interviews were obtained by proving the lack of communication intensity and point aspects in maintaining the relationship of each partner.
