Abstract
Communication is the process of exchanging messages from communicators to communicants. This study examines how Crisis Communication at the South Sumatra Provincial Health Office Responds to Negative Rumors Regarding Vaccine Coverage to Medical Personnel. The Crisis Communication Strategy can be seen from how the South Sumatra Provincial Health Office responded to the negative rumors. In this study explains how the Health Office communicates to the public regarding the current crisis. This research also shows how the steps taken in response to the crisis. The theory used in this research is the situational crisis communication theory (SCCT) which has 4 dimensions, including Deny strategies, Diminish strategies, Rebuild strategies, and Reinforcing / Bolstering strategies. This study uses qualitative method approach. This research procedure will produce descriptive data in the form of words or verbally from the results using in-depth interviewing techniques on two informants. Data collection in this study was carried out by making observations to see firsthand how the South Sumatra Provincial Health Office responded to negative rumors related to vaccine coverage to medical personnel. In addition, there is also documentation in the form of photo interviews with informants from existing activities. The results showed that the Provincial Health Office of South Sumatra had communicated the crisis to the community well based on these four dimensions. This can be proven by the crisis phenomenon that has been passed.
