Abstract
Peat is defined as material or organic materials that accumulate naturally in a state of excessive wet. That is because the peat has a high porosity so as to have a high absorption. The moisture content can reach of the dry weight or in volume. This study aimed to analyze the water content of peat with variations in temperature and heating time. The longer the heating time, the greater the peat moisture content is missing. To get the optimal moisture content of peat which made heating at° with maximum heating time for hours. The higher the heating temperature of peat, the greater the rate of water loss per unit time peat. The rate of water loss per hour in an area of peat Sepucuk at° respectively 29.58%.In the area Bayung peat Lencir rate of water loss per hour at° respectively 3.11%.In the area of peat Cengal rate of water loss per hour at° by 29.39%.
