Abstract
Pegagan ducks are a family of local Indonesian ducks that have been cultivated from generation to generation. So that it becomes a wealth of livestock genetic resources or Indonesia's local biological wealth, which needs to be preserved and developed. So far, there is not much information regarding the performance characterization of grower-phase of gotu kola ducks. This study aims to study and identify the performance characterization of grower phase of pegagan ducks. This research used 200 Pegagan ducks aged 8 weeks which were obtained from Kotadaro Village, Rantau Panjang District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province. This research was conducted for 8 weeks in the experimental cage, Department of Technology and Animal Husbandry Industry, Animal Husbandry Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The research method used is descriptive method with semi-intensive maintenance and data collection by weighing 200 ducks per week. The parameters observed consisted of feed consumption, body weight and feed conversion. The results of this study concluded that the grower phase of pegagan ducks at the age of 9 to 16 weeks had an average final body weight of 1364 - 1485 g / head / week with a ration consumption of 850 - 1,188 g / head / week and a ration conversion of 4. , 0 - 8.9. pegagan ducks began to experience sexual maturity at the age of 13 weeks.
