Abstract
Adolescents are an age group that is prone to experiencing nutritional problems and need special attention because it affects the growth and development of their bodies as well as due to nutrition problems as adults. Research and development data from the Ministry of Health in 2013 revealed that underweight teenagers aged 16-18 years based on BMI/U nationally 9.4% (1.9% very thin and 7.5% thin) and South Sumatra included in 11 provinces with a number of cases above national. The 2013 South Sumatra Province Riskesdas report found that underweight teenagers aged 16-18 years according to BMI/U in Ogan Ilir were 2.8% very thin and 9.1% thin. Knowledge, Peers, Mass Media, Body Image and Eating Consumption can influence a person's eating habits which can lead to thin nutritional problems. The method used is a qualitative approach with 11 informants. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. The process of collecting data through in-depth interviews and data analysis using content analysis from the interview process and made in the form of a matrix. The results of research in Indralaya N 1 High School teenage girls know knowledge about nutrition through school lessons, extracurricular and also from the mass media. Most adolescents have knowledge about nutrition but their nutritional status is still lacking. Although young women have the ideal body shape, it does not affect their habits to consume food. But the influence of peers, mass media, can influence these young women to determine their food choices. The need to deliver information about balanced nutrition from schools through practical learning for BMI measurement and good and proper nutrition education so that students can know and apply it in their daily lives.
