Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of the Human Development Index (HDI) and the level of poverty on development inequality between Provinces in Sulawesi Island and Sumatra Island for the period 2010 - 2019. The object examined in this study is the effect of the human development index and the level of poverty on development inequality. between provinces on the Island of Sulawesi and Sumatra in 2010 - 2019. The analysis technique uses multiple regression analysis with hypothesis testing using the t test and the F test. The results show that partially the Human Development Index and Poverty Level have an effect on and are not significant to Development Inequality. Meanwhile, simultaneously the Human Development Index and the Poverty Level have a significant and significant effect on Development Inequality. Then on the island of Sumatra both partially and simultaneously the Human Development Index and the Poverty Level have an effect on and are not significant towards Development Inequality. Furthermore, for the islands of Sulawesi and Sumatra only the Human Development Index has a significant and significant effect on Development Inequality. Meanwhile, simultaneously the Human Development Index and the Poverty Level have a significant and significant effect on Development Inequality.
