Abstract

This research was aimed to determine the effect of Organic Liquid Fertilizer (OLF) tofu industrial wastewater on the growth of bitter melon (Momordica charantia L.) plants on nontidal swamp soil media. The research was carried out from October 2020 to February 2021 at the Greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University Indralaya, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province. This research was prepared using a completely randomized design (CRD) one level with 5 levels of treatment (P0 = without OLF application; P1 = OLF dose 25 ml / plant; P2 = OLF dose 50 ml / plant; P3 = OLF dose 75 ml / plant; P4 = dose of OLF 100 ml / plant), each of which was repeated 3 times so that there were 45 experimental units. The research data were analyzed using the F diversity test and further tests using the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) level of 5%. Observations were made on the OLF analysis of tofu liquid waste, analysis of swampy swamps, plant length, leaf area, number of leaves, greenness of leaves, number of fruits, fruit weight, fruit length, and fruit diameter. The results showed that the treatment of liquid organic fertilizer (OLF) from tofu wastewater was not significantly different from the treatment without using OLF except for the diameter of the fruit. The treatment of giving Organic Liquid Fertilizer (OLF) did not meet the specifications for fruit weight, fruit length, and number of fruit of Lipa F1 bitter melon, except for plant length. Based on the analysis of fruit yields using Organic Liquid Fertilizer (OLF), the best is in the treatment dose of 100 ml / 10 kg polybag. This shows that the more OLF applications, the better the fruit produced by plants. The optimum time for fermentation of Organic Liquid Fertilizer (OLF) to increase the nutrients N, P, K is 10 days, because at that time the bacteria are actively dividing. If the bacteria have passed the stationary period or optimum cell division, the bacteria will die when food reserves run out. Based on the results of the research it is suggested to add other organic matter in order to be sufficient for the N, P, K and pH nutrients contained in liquid organic fertilizers, frequent application of OLF to plants, pest control in further research, and the right fermentation time to produce OLF. With high nutrient elements, the use of Organic Liquid Fertilizer (OLF) tofu liquid waste can be an alternative for sustainable agriculture because it contains organic materials that do not damage the environment.
