Abstract
Research on submicro formulation of particle extract of ethanol extract of pare as antifungal Trichophyton with variation of calcium chloride concentration (CaCl2) as follows 20, 40, and 100 μL. The old pare ethanol extract is formulated with a coating of extract particles with polymer thereby altering the particle shape of Momordica charantia L. fruit extract into a submicro-particle dosage form. Preparation of old pine extract into submicro particles by using chitosan and sodium alginate polymer and calcium chloride (CaCl2) as cross linker using ionic gelation method. The optimum formula obtained has percent value of encapsulation efficiency that is formula 2 with percent value of the best encapsulation efficiency to 91,19%. Characterization result of submicro particle preparation such as diameter and particle size distribution (PDI) using particle size analyzer in formula 2 is 785.2 nm; 0.576; and a potential zeta value of 14.5 mV. Based on the results of in vivo test using 5 test groups of normal control given placebo preparations, negative control without administration (normal control), positive control given ketoconazole stock in the market, A treatment given pare extract without submicro, and treatment B with the submicro dosage of extra particles of pare. The effectiveness of the drug was observed through in vivo testing using Wistar strain mice tested in infections with Trichophyton fungi. Based on the results obtained submicro dosage of extract particle of old pare showed a decrease in the number of lesions that most compared with other groups in killing the growth of Trichophyton fungus.
