Abstract
Armyworm Spodoptera litura is one of the leaf-eating pests which cause a decrease in the productivity of mustard green. This research was aimed to study the effect of B. thuringiensis based- bio-insecticide application on mortality and lethal time (LT50) of S. litura larvae and their consumption of mustard green. The experiment was arranged in a randomized block design (RBD) with 5 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments were. P1, P2, P3 (B. thuringiensis based-bioinsecticide 5%; 10 %; 15% respectively), P4 (Dipel) and P5 (aquadest as control). Each treatment was applied to mustard green followed by inserting 2nd S. litura larvae. Observation of larval mortality and LT50 value was conducted during 5 days. The results showed the highest mortality of S. litura larva (68%) was found at P3 (15% concentration treatment). The lowest of LT50 value was obtained P3 (15% concentration) namely 2.392 days. The lowest average leaf area consumed was at P3 (a concentration of 15%).
