Abstract

Indonesian Port II or IPC (Indonesian Port Corporation) is the largest harbour in Indonesia located at Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta. The number of sea transportation activities at the port result a lot of hazardous wastes that potentially affect the environment. The purpose of this research is to determine the content of heavy metals (Pb) in water and sediment and its relationship with sediment fraction on water reservoir Ill at the port of Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta. This research was conducted in March 2018. Heavy metal analysis used Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) and sediment fraction was determined by using sifting and piping methods. As the result the content of heavy metals (Pb) in water was 5x10-5- 21x10-5 mg/1 (average 9x10-5 mg/1 ). while the grade of heavy metals (Pb) in sediment was 2.68-12 .77 mm/kg (average 7,60 mg/kg). The heavy metal content of Pb is still below the standard of SEP A (2002 ), OSP AR (2000) and Regulation of Indonesian Minister of Environment Number 51 of 2004. The Sediment fraction on water reservoir III at the port of Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta is mostly muddy mud type.
