Abstract

This study aims to determine the Indigenous Knowledge of Dusun Tebat Benawa Tribe of Besemah regarding the name of the tree that grows in the forest and the benefits and functions of the tree so that it can be used as a data base in the management and utilization by the community and local government. Hepangan is a traditional technology inherited from the ancestors of the Besemah tribe that is not found in other tribes owned by the Tebat Benawa community in maintaining the types of trees planted and can maintain the forest ecosystem. In this study, 16 types of trees were planted on Hepangan, including coffee, durian, chocolate, cempedak, jackfruit, rambutan, mango, Chinese stink bean, Kepayang, dogfruit, guava, stink bean, rubber, bamboo and Sengon trees.
