Abstract

This study aims to obtain information about the form of indigenous knowledge of the Tebat Benawa Community for Tebat Bukit conservation. The research was conducted from December 2019 to January 2020. The research method used in this research is descriptive, and the object of this research is the Tebat Benawa Village Community. Data were collected by means of literature study, observation, and semi-structured interviews with the Tebat Benawa Community who know about Tebat Bukit conservation. The results show that the Tebat Benawa Community has five indigenous knowledge in implementing Tebat Bukit conservation which is classified into three indicators, namely: a) The availability of tebat water : Tebat Bukit and ghumbus b) Use of tebat water : Siring ayik, c) Water management tebat and tebat : Nebasi jalan, ghumbus, and transfer knowledge Village Society Tebat Benawa in preserving the Tebat Bukit through direct experience, for example join search for fish in the tebat, participate in implementing indigenous tradition, socialization of village administration, parental advice, and petatah-petitih. The data from the research results are expected to be used as a source of information in high school biology learning, especially learning in class X in the form of validated student worksheet.
