Abstract

Limbah organik rumah tangga yang belum dimanfaatkan secara maksimal seperti limbah sawi, limbah kulit buah pisang, limbah cangkang telur dan limbah ampas kelapa masih mengandung nutrisi yang dibutuhkan oleh cacing tanah untuk pertumbuhannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan laju konsumsi, efisiensi asimilasi dan bobot tubuh cacing tanah Pontoscolex corethrurus pada berbagai limbah organik rumah tangga. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan November 2020 sampai dengan Februari 2021 bertempat di Laboratorium Fisiologi Jurusan Biologi, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Sriwijaya, Indralaya. Prosedur penelitian diawali dengan pengkoleksian cacing tanah Pontoscolex corethrurus, pengadaan pakan, uji laju konsumsi dan efisiensi asimilasi cacing tanah pada cawan petri, serta uji pengamatan bobot tubuh cacing tanah Pontoscolex corethrurus pada pot plastik. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa nilai rata-rata laju konsumsi tertinggi pada perlakuan A1 (limbah sawi) sebesar 36,63 mg/g berat tubuh/hari dan nilai rata-rata efisiensi asimilasi tertinggi pada perlakuan A0 (feses sapi) sebesar 72,38% dan A1 (limbah sawi), sebesar 72,5%. Kenaikan bobot tubuh cacing tanah Pontoscolex corethrurus tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan A1 (limbah sawi) sebesar 0,216 g/individu. Kandungan N yang tinggi, nisbah C/N yang rendah dan serat kasar rendah pada pakan menyebabkan tingginya laju konsumsi pakan, efisiensi asimilasi, dan bobot tubuh cacing tanah Pontoscolex corethrurus. Disimpulkan bahwa laju konsumsi pakan, efisiensi asimilasi, dan pertambahan bobot tubuh cacing tanah Pontoscolex corethrurus yang paling baik pada pemberian pakan perlakuan A1 (limbah sawi).
