Abstract
The faster traffic growth can result in a reduction in the quality of a road access service. The damage that often occurs in the laston binding layer (AC-BC) is a change in shape which causes plastic grooves in the layer, therefore the binding layer is designed to be resistant to deformation caused by vehicle tires. One of the methods used to solve the problem in the binding layer is the addition of rubber material. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of the mixture of laston AC-BC modified with used tire rubber powder (Crumb Rubber) and natural rubber (SIR20), this research was conducted by adding natural rubber (SIR20) and crumb rubber to the asphalt mixture with using the wet method. In this study using 45 specimens with 3 different variables, thats a mixture of standard asphalt, asphalt modified SIR20 and asphalt modified Crumb Rubber, the study was carried out using the Marshall test to find the value of stability and flow, from the results of the research conducted it was found that the optimum asphalt content was 5,9, 5,6 and 5,29 with the marshall quotient (MQ) values was 310.27 Kg /mm, 384.701 Kg/mm and 441 Kg/mm.
