Abstract

This study aims to determine the sources of educational tourism information in the city of Palembang. The type of research used in this study is a quantitative descriptive type that aims to describe and describe the sources of educational tourism information in the city of Palembang. Variables in this study using a single variable, namely educational tour information sources. Data collection methods used were questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this research is quantitative descriptive, which in this technique focuses attention to existing problems by recording, measuring, and clarifying and analyzing by calculating frequency in percent or percentage table of each answer. The result of this research is that information sources of educational tourism in Palembang city, namely television broadcasting media, print media covering textbook, brochure, leaflet, and booklet, and then internet media which include official website of tourism, Instagram and facebook and also activity (event) organized by the city government of Palembang. Furthermore, tourist information can also be obtained through travel agencies. However, the results in this study states that the dominant source of educational tourism information is through internet media, namely Instagram. As for suggestions that can be submitted from this research, namely the need for the government to develop educational tour information sources to related institutions, such as government agencies, private institutions, and schools.
