Abstract

Banyuasin Regency is one of the waters that has the potential for large fisheries and marine resources. One of the many efforts developed by the Banyuasin Coastal community is the stationary lift net business. The catch that is obtained every year continues to increase, although not in large numbers. Estimating fish stocks is the first step in fisheries management to determine the density level of fish stocks. The purpose of this study is to calculate the value of target strength and density values of fish using the acoustic method in the of stationary lift net in Banyuasin waters. This research was conducted in November 2019. The hydroacoustic survey used the Scientific Echosounder SIMRAD EK15 single beam 200 KHz frequency instrument. Data processing using SONAR 5, Surfer 9 and Microsoft Excel software. The results showed 31 species of fish caught during the study, anchovy (Stoplephorus sp) with a length ranging from 2.1 cm to 8 cm, ponyfish (Leiognathus sp) a length ranging from 2.5 cm to 10 cm and squid (Loligo sp) with a length ranging from 0.9 cm. up to 8.1 cm, is the most dominating fish species based on the catch per hauling. The detected fish length ranged from 5.48 cm – 7.91 cm with TS ranging from -65.41 dB to -62.65 dB. Fish density obtained from acoustic data acquisition ranged from 75.89 gr/m3 as many as 158 fish/1000m3 to 2780.96 gr/m3 as many as 396 fish/1000m3
