Abstract
Autoclaved aerated concrete is a type of lightweight concrete that has a specific gravity of less than 1,800 kg/m3 while the specific gravity of conventional concrete is 2,400 kg/m3. The composition of autoclaved aerated concrete consists of cement, fine aggregate, water, aluminum powder, fly ash and superplasticizer. Curing was carried out using an autoclave with variations in curing time. The composition used in the mixture is the percentage of aluminum powder of 0.2%, variations in the percentage of fly ash 10%, 15% and 20%, silica sand size of 0.6-1.18mm, and variations in autoclave curing time for 3, 4 and 5 hour. The results of testing concrete at the age of 28 days at a variation of 10% resulted in a compressive strength of 10.86 MPa, 11.69 MPa, 14.35 MPa with a specific gravity of 1662.13 kg/m 3 , 1694.67 kg/m3 , 1724 kg /m3 , at 15% variation produces compressive strength of 12.76 MPa, 13.27 MPa, 15.21 MPa with specific gravity of 1645.33 kg/m3 , 1652.27 kg/m3 , 1666.93 kg/m3 and at 20% variation produces compressive strength of 9.97 MPa, 10.92 MPa, 11.45 MPa with specific gravity of 1608.27 kg/m3 , 1624.27 kg/m3 , 1657.6 kg/m3 . This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the percentage of fly ash and variations in autoclave curing time with a percentage of 0.2% aluminum powder. The test results show that concrete using aluminum powder substitution, fly ash and curing autoclave can increase the compressive strength of concrete with a specific gravity that is in accordance with lightweight concrete specifications.
