Abstract
Aerated concrete is a type of concrete that has a specific gravity value that is lighter than normal concrete with a specific gravity value of less than 1900 kg/m3. Increasing the compressive strength of concrete can be done in many ways, one of which is by substituting silica fume for cement. The composition of aerated concrete consists of cement, sand, water, aluminum powder, silica fume, and superplasticizer. Concrete treatment by water curing method. The composition used in the mixture is the percentage of aluminum powder of 0.2%, the percentage of silica fume of 10%, 15%, and 20%, as well as fine aggregate P1 mesh 16 - 30 (0.595 mm - 1.19 mm) and fine aggregate P2 mesh 30 - 60 (0.25 mm - 0.595 mm). The test results of concrete at the age of 28 days with P1 fine aggregate and silica fume percentages of 10%, 15%, and 20% resulted in compressive strength values of 18.736 MPa, 23.38 MPa, 24.62 MPa with specific gravity values of 1750 kg/ m3, 1828 kg/m3, 1830 kg/m3, and P2 fine aggregate with silica fume percentages of 10%, 15%, and 20% resulted in compressive strength values of 16.47 MPa, 19.35 MPa, 19.85 MPa with values of specific gravity of 1720 kg/m3, 1788 kg/m3, 1799 kg/m3. The results of this study indicate that the greater the percentage substitution of silica fume for cement, the compressive strength and specific gravity values produced also increase and meet the minimum requirements for structural materials with specific gravity in accordance with lightweight concrete specifications.
