Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the role of religiosity towards self-confidence muslim women to wear hijab. The hypothesis of this study includes the role of religiosity towards self-confidence. The participants of this study are 150 muslim womens who do not wear hijab. Sampling is done by using purposive sampling techniques. This study uses two scales as a measure, namely the self-confidence scale that refers to self-confidence dimensions from Akin (2007) and religiosity scale that refers to religiosity dimensions from Ancok and Suroso (2011). Hypothesis testing is done using simple regression analysis. The results obtained show that the role of religiosity towards self-confidence is significant with R square =0,175 , F =31,414 , p = 0,000 (p<0,05). Thus the proposed hypothesis is accepted, where the contribution of religiosity towards self-confidence is 17,5%.
