Abstract

Data perpustakaan nasional mencatat bahwa jumlah perpustakaan yang terdapat di Kota Palembang adalah sebanyak 268 buah. Namun, jika dibandingkan dengan 1.455.284 jiwa penduduk, maka indeks kecukupan perpustakaan untuk wilayah Kota Palembang adalah sebesar 2,24. Angka ini tergolong cukup rendah dan menunjukkan bahwa jumlah perpustakaan di wilayah ini masih belum mencukupi. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan perpustakaan umum yang dapat diakses oleh masyarakat umum di Kota Palembang. Tujuan dari perancangan ini adalah merancang perpustakaan umum yang dapat mewadahi beragam aktivitas masyarakat dengan tetap mengutamakan kenyamanan seluruh aktivitas pengguna. Konsep pengaturan zonasi tapak dan ruang dalam diterapkan dengan mempertimbangkan kebutuhan privasi dan akustik masing-masing ruang. Pemanfaatan vegetasi di sekitar bangunan hingga pemilihan material khusus peredam suara pada ruang-ruang koleksi pustaka diharapkan dapat memberikan tingkat kenyamanan yang sesuai bagi seluruh pengguna yang beraktivitas di dalam perpustakaan. Kata Kunci: Perpustakaan, Umum, Akustik, Koleksi. National library data records that the number of libraries in Palembang is as many as 268 pieces. However, compared to 1,455,284 inhabitants, the library adequacy index for Palembang city area is 2.24. This figure is quite low and shows that the number of libraries in the region is still insufficient. Therefore, a public library that can be accessed by the general public in Palembang is needed. The purpose of this design is to design a public library that can accommodate a variety of community activities while putting the convenience of all user activities first. The concept of tread and inner space zoning arrangements is applied taking into account the privacy and acoustic needs of each space. Usage of vegetation around the building to the sound suppression material in library collection rooms is expected to provide a level of comfort suitable for all users’ activities in the library.
