Abstract

ABSTRAK Penyalahgunaan narkoba menjadi masalah utama di Indonesia, terutama pada remaja sehingga peran dari orang tua sangat dibutuhkan dalam mencegah permasalahan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran orang tua dalam mencegah penyalahgunaan narkoba bagi remaja di Kelurahan Teladan Kabupaten Bangka Selatan. Penelitian ini dikaji dari 5 indikator peran orang tua, yaitu peran orang tua dalam mendidik, mengawasi, membimbing, berkomunikasi, dan melindungi remaja dalam penyalahgunaan narkoba. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Pemilihan subjek penelitian menggunakan teknik purposive sampling sehingga didapatkan jumlah subjek dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 5 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data diperoleh dari wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi kepada orang tua di Kelurahan Teladan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran orang tua dalam mencegah penyalahgunaan narkoba cenderung melalui pendidikan agama, membuat aturan pergaulan remaja, melalukan komunikasi secara terbuka dan tertutup, memberikan pengawasan terkait pembatasan kegiatan remaja di luar rumah, dan melindungi remaja dalam penggunaan sosial media. Namun, dalam menjalankan perannya, sering terjadi perdebatan antara orang tua dan remaja. Selain itu, remaja lebih tertutup kepada orang tua. Oleh karena itu, orang tua perlu melakukan komunikasi yang baik, memberikan aturan yang bijak serta memperhatikan perkembangan remaja agar terhindar dari penyalahgunaan narkoba. ABSTRACT Drug abuse is a major problem in Indonesia, especially in adolescents so that the role of parents is needed in preventing these problems. This study aims to determine the role of parents in preventing drug abuse for adolescents in Teladan Village, South Bangka Regency. This study was examined from 5 indicators of the role of parents, namely the role of parents in educating, supervising, guiding, communicating, and protecting adolescents in drug abuse. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The selection of research subjects used purposive sampling technique so that the number of subjects in this study was 5 people. Data collection techniques were obtained from interviews, observations, and documentation to parents in the Teladan Village. The results of the study indicate that the role of parents in preventing drug abuse tends to be through religious education, making rules for adolescent relationships, conducting open and closed communication, provided related to limiting youth activities outside the home, and protecting adolescents in the use of social media. However, in carrying out its role there are often debates between parents of teenagers. In addition, teenagers are more closed to their parents. Therefore, parents need to make good communication, provide wise rules and pay attention to the development of adolescents to avoid drug abuse. Keywords: Role of Parents, Adolescents, Drug Abuse.
