Abstract

In this study, the researcher uses the semiotic theory by Roland Barthes(1999), in which Barthes semiotic has 3 dimensions. they are denotation. proposed by Lakhsmi(2008) which divided satire into two types, they are horatian satire and juvenile satire. the result of this study are the compare the types of satire used in film "Chips 1982" with film "Gila Lu Ndro 2018". Chips 1982, there are six scenes that use horatian satire and two scenes uses juvenile satire. Meanwhile, Gila Lu Ndro 2018 uses six scenes that use horatian satire and doesn't have juvenile satire. there is a differencies meaning between satire in the film Chips 1982. This was conveyed implicitly in the film Gila Lu Ndro 2018 satire was delivered openly. Analyzed through the film chips 1982 and Gila Lu Ndro 2018.
