Abstract

Penelitian kali ini untuk menggambarkan sebaran curah hujan menggunakan metode interpolasi Invers Distance Weighting (IDW) di Sumatera Selatan. Dalam penelitian ini pengolahan data atau analisis menggunakan Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) yang secara digital akan terproses dengan cepat dan baik, namun dalam penyimpanan data hasil (output) relative lebih besar dibandingkan dengan data manualnya. Metode interpolasi dalam pemetaan adalah proses estimasi nilai di suatu wilayah yang tidak memiliki sampel ataupun data. Dalam hal ini interpolasi yang digunakan Interpolasi Invers Distance Weighting (IDW) yaitu suatu metode yang memperhitungkan jarak sebagai bobot. Hasil dari penelitian ini sebaran curah hujan dengan intesitas di atas 300 mm sering terjadi di Sumatera Selatan bagian Barat yang mungkin dipengaruhi oleh topografi daerah . Sebaran curah hujan di Sumatera Selatan tidaklah merata dikarenakan wilayah Sumatera Selatan memiliki topografi yang berbeda-beda yaitu daerah pantai Timur tanahnya terdiri dari rawa-rawa dan payau yang dipengaruhi oleh pasang surut. Sedikit ke arah Barat merupakan daerah dataran yang luas dan semakin ke dalam daerahnya yang berbukit-bukit . Kata Kunci : Curah Hujan, Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) dan Interpolasi.
