Abstract
Research on a prototype hybrid solar power system with a generator set aims to reduce the dependence of people in rural areas who are not reached by PLN electricity so that the use of solar energy is an alternative that can be used to reduce the dependence of rural communities on the use of fuel oil which is getting longer. exhausted and of course the costs to be incurred will be even greater. The prototype will use an automatic transfer switch system as a switching system from the generator set to the solar power system. The data collection process was carried out for 7 days with 6 hours per day for the generator set and solar power system when charging the battery. As for battery usage, it depends on the weather when charging the battery. Retrieval of data in the form of voltage, current and power. The results of the data obtained after the research are the average voltage value of the generator set per day is 220.48 V. For 6 hours of use it requires 3 liters of fuel. The average voltage value for the solar power system when charging the battery per day is 20.709 V. The measurement of the voltage value on the battery using a 500 W inverter with a lamp load of 400 W is carried out for 7 days for 2 hours. However, on the 2nd day to the 7th day, it is not possible to measure the voltage value for 2 full hours. This is due to the influence of unfavorable weather. The value of the total average voltage on the battery using a 500 W inverter with a 400 W lamp load is 11.743 V.
