Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between gratitude and self esteem in adolescent instagram users. The hypothesis of this study is that there is a relationship between gratitude and self esteem in adolescent instagram users. Participants in this study were 150 adolescent instagram users. This study uses two scales as a measuring tool, namely the gratitude scale which refers to the component of Watkin (2014) and the self esteem scale which refers to the dimension from Tafarodi and Swann (2001) The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between gratitude and self esteem in adolescent instagram users with a value of r = +524 and p = 0.000 (p <0.05). These results indicate that there is a positive and significant relationship between gratitude and self esteem. Therefore, the hypothesis in this study can be accepted.
