Abstract

The Musi River estuary has animal and biological resources, one of which is fish. One of the fish that live in the waters of the Musi River estuary is gulamah fish (Johnius trachycephalus Bleeker), gulamah fish live in brackish water and sea water. Gulamah fish has a fairly high economic value, besides being sold fresh, this fish is also produced into salted fish. The results of the catch of gulamah fish by fishermen in the waters of the Musi River are felt to have not been able to meet the needs of the community in a long period of time, so it takes efforts to preserve gulamah fish The main step in the cultivation effort is to know the food habits of fish, so that the types of natural food of gulamah fish in their natural habitat is in Musi River estuary., in this case information about the types of natural foods favored by gulamah fish is needed. This study aims to analyze the type of food and find out the food habits of gulamah fish and find out the long relationship with the weight of gulamah fish. Of the 35 fish caught 19 of them had a full stomach and 16 of them were empty.
