Abstract
At the beginning of 2020, the world was shocked by the emergence of the Corona Virus which originated in Wuhan, China. Corona virus can spread quickly so some countries implement systems Lockdown. The impact of this policy is that rubber prices fall due to decreased purchasing power. The price of rubber certainly affects farmers' income. If the income of farmers decreases, the level of welfare of farmers also decreases. If the income of farmers is reduced, then the expenditure of farmers must be limited both in meeting the needs of food and non-food consumption. The aims of this study were 1) to analyze the welfare level of rubber farmers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in Jerambah Rengas Village, Tulung Selapan District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, 2) Analyze the consumption patterns of rubber farmers before and during the Covid-19 pandemic situation in Jerambah Village. Rengas, Tulung Selapan District, Ogan Komering Ilir District, 3) Knowing the factors that influence consumption patterns in Jerambah Rengas Village, Tulung Selapan District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. This research was conducted in Jerambah Rengas Village in April 2021. The research location was chosen purposively with the consideration that the majority of the population in Jerambah Rengas Village are rubber farmers. The method used is a survey method. The sampling method used simple random sampling with a sample of 30 farmers. The data processing method used is the Rubber Farmer's Income Exchange Rate to determine the welfare level of rubber farmers, the T test to analyze differences in farmer household consumption, and the multiple linear regression method to determine the factors that affect farmer household consumption. The results show that the level of farmer welfare has decreased due to the covid pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused rubber prices to drop because many countries have locked down so that companies do not produce. Farmer household consumption has decreased due to a decrease in farmer income, so that expenditure does not exceed income, farmers adapt by reducing a number of needs so that income can meet household needs. The results of multiple linear regression indicate that the factors that influence household consumption of farmers are income and number of family members, while those that do not have a significant effect are education and health investment and length of education.
