Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the persuasive communication strategy of the Senior Course at the Basic Training of the Association Of Islamic University Students (HMI) Palembang Darussalam Branch. The research uses qualitative research methods. The research data was obtained from primary data through in-depth interviews with the head of the Branch Cadre Corps (KPC) and members of the Branch Cadre Corps (KPC) as well as two cadres who had attended Basic Training. Withdrawal of main informants and supporting informants through literature studies, photos or pictures, documentation, and activity reports. Based on the results of research analysis that has been obtained in the field, it can be concluded that the persuasive communication strategies proposed by Melvin L. Defleur and Sandra J. Ball are psychodynamic, sociocultural and meaning construction. The three theories of communication strategy above have been implemented well.
