Abstract

This research is entitled "Economic Development of East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency as a Food Barn for South Sumatra Province in 2004-2016 as a Contribution of Economic History Course" The formulation of the problem from this research is the development of food agriculture in the East OKU Regency area and the influence of agricultural development on people's lives. food agriculture in the East OKU district in 2004-2016, The purpose of this study is to explain the development of agriculture in the East OKU district and explain the agricultural development of the East OKU district on the economic life of the people in 2004-2016. Economic Development of East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, especially in the field of food agriculture as the largest economic wheel in East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency. The method used in this study is a historical research method which includes heuristics, criticism, interpretation and historiography, data collected through observation, interviews, documentation and literature study. Ogan Komering Ulu Timur Regency was established in 2004 which carried out regional expansion from Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, after expanding the main focus of the government was the agricultural sector, this was due to the abundance of agricultural food products in the form of rice in the Ogan Komering Ulu Timur Regency area so that it became a food barn In South Sumatra Province, the abundant harvest from agriculture certainly affects the lives of people who work as farmers and non-farmers. In addition, there is also a large food barn which aims to maintain rice stocks so that there is no shortage.
