Abstract
Currently, many teenagers suffer from hypertension and this has resulted in an increase in cases of hypertension in adolescents in Indonesia based on the results of survey data. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that can affect the incidence of hypertension in adolescents in Indonesia. Systematic review is used as the method of this research. There are three databases used in this study (PubMed, Google Scholar and Garuda Ristekbrin) to search for literature that matches the criteria in this study. The participants in this research were teenagers with an age range of 10-24 years. The use of Indonesian and English keywords in this study such as hypertension, adolescent, risk, factor, association, relationship, hypertension, adolescent and Indonesian and using boole operators (AND and OR). The selected literature publications are publications published between 2015 and 2020. A total of 252 literatures were identified from the three databases based on keywords, abstracts, titles and year of publication. 57 literatures were selected based on dissimilar literature and appropriate topics. 21 literatures were selected based on inclusion criteria, full text and the appropriateness of the definition of hypertension and the addition of 5 relevant literature came from the google search engine. Two literatures were excluded because they did not meet the minimum quality assessment tool, namely 50% and 19 literatures were selected after a quality assessment using JBI Critical Appraisal. As a result, the selected literature shows that factors related to nutritional status, namely body mass index, neck circumference and thickness of subcutaneous fat (skinfold) which indicate overweight status (obese) have an influence on the incidence of hypertension in adolescents. In addition, there are factors related to lifestyle, namely poor sleep quality which also affects the incidence of hypertension in adolescents. The findings of this systematic review study indicate that there is a need for improvements to the adolescent's lifestyle, especially in physical activity and nutritional intake and is supported by the role of adolescent parents.
