Abstract
Transnational crime has various forms that have the spread of crimes that are out of control so that the pattern is caused like a tangled thread, one of which is with human trafficking. Human trafficking in Indonesia is one of the crimes that until now has not been overcome massively, including in South Sumatra. With this writing, it will at least explain how the securitization process that has been done by one of the government agencies namely UPT BP2MI Palembang as securitizing actor, using field methods and literature so that the author can see the extent to which this institution responds to the issue of human trafficking in South Sumatra in particular. The end result will be described in accordance with the stages of securitization process such as speech act, existential threat, referent object, and extraordinary measure. This research also found one of the forms that has been used by UPT BP2MI Palembang from the form of speech act, namely assertive speech act whose end result is UPT BP2MI Palembang which only asks for affirmation to other institutions that have the same responsibility for the crackdown on Human Trafficking cases in South Sumatra.
