Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of housewives in preventing adolescents from abusing drugs. This research is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The data sources used are primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used qualitative analysis with four stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that housewives play a role in preventing adolescents from abusing drugs by providing role models, supervision, mentoring, and advice. It can be concluded from some of these roles that the maximum role carried out by housewives is in the role of role models for adolescents and the less optimal role is the controlling or supervising role due to lack of time caused by busy work so that there is very little supervision for teenagers.
