Abstract
Each individual has different motives or reasons for doing something and gets different satisfication. The motivation arises because of the need, as well as the use of the media in watching movies on video-on-demand. This study aims to see how the relationships between motives and the level of satisfication on students of communication science at the Sriwijaya University during the Covid-19 pandemic. In this study, researchers used the theory of Uses and Gratification by Katz, Blumber dan Gurevitch and using typology of motives by McQuail. The method used in this research is quantitative methods and descriptive data types. Data collection techniques were carried out by distributing questionnaires. The result of this study indicates that level of achievment of the variables of motive to use media and satisfication watching movies of the students is at a very high level. In addition, there is a significant correlation between motive to use media and satisfication watching movies of the students with a significant value 0.713 using Pearson Product Moment correlation technique.
