Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor karakteristik perusahaan dan Good Corporate Governance (GCG) dalam perusahaan yang dapat mempengaruhi pengungkapan tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan (CSR) pada perusahaan manufaktur di BEI s tahun 2007-2008. Faktor-faktor karakteristik perusahaan yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini yaitu ukuran perusahaan (size), leverage, dan profitabilitas. Populasi sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah semua perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) tahun 2007-2008. Total sampel penelitian adalah sebanyak 42 perusahaan dari jumlah keseluruhan perusahaan manufaktur sebanyak 146 perusahaan yang ditentukan melalui purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor ukuran perusahaan (size) dan profitabilitas berpengaruh positif terhadap pengungkapan CSR. Namun sebaliknya leverage tidak memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap pengungkapan CSR pada perusahaan manufaktur di Indonesia. Untuk dapat memprediksi lebih baik mengenai faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pengungkapan CSR, maka penulis menyarankan agar pada penelitian selanjutnya digunakan variabel-variabel yang lainnya di luar variabel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini.
