Abstract
Infant Mortality is still the main focus of health problems in Indonesia, most infant deaths are in the neonatal period. One of the efforts to reduce the death rate by improving neonatal health services in Indonesia. This study aims to find out the factors that affect the utilization of neonatal health services (KN1) in Indonesia. This research is quantitative research with cross-sectional study design. This research data uses secondary data from Basic Health Research in 2018. The sample in this study was 35,154 respondents who utilized neonatal health services (KN1) selected in accordance with the criteria of inclusion and exclusion. Univariate results showed that respondents who utilized neonatal health services (KN1) amounted to 90.9%. Bivariate results in this study showed that the variable maternal age (p-value <0,001), education level (p-value <0,001), employment status (p-value 0.012), access to health facilities (p-value <0.001) and place of delivery (p-value < 0.001) has a significant relationship to the utilization of neonatal health services (KN1) while variable parity (p-value 0.732), residence (p-value 0.195), and birth weight (p-value 0.999) have no significant relationship to the utilization of neonatal health services (KN1). The multivariate results in this study show that higher education level variables are the most dominant variables in influencing the utilization of neonatal health services (KN1) in Indonesia with a p-value of <0.001; 1,603 PR (95% CI = 1,290 -1,992) after being controlled with another variable. Higher education has a higher probability of utilizing neonatal health services (KN1). Therefore, it is expected that the government can improve skills and knowledge both from the side of health workers and the public.
