Abstract

Kota Palembang saat ini telah menjadi pusat dari segala jenis kegiatan perdagangan dan jasa di provinsi Sumatera Selatan sehingga diharapakan adanya kemajuan dari segi pembangunan fasilitas serta infrastruktur yang dapat menunjang kegiatan tersebut, salah satunya ialah kehadiran Shopping Center di kota Palembang. Shopping Center kerap dikunjungi oleh masyarakat setiap hari untuk mencari barang atau jasa. Sebagai suatu titik destinasi sehari - hari, Shopping Center semakin mencoba untuk mengikuti perkembangan zaman. Sehingga, sekarang Pusat Perbelanjaan tidak hanya sebagai pusat perbelanjaan namun juga sebagai tempat untuk berkumpul dengan menciptakan sarana hiburan pada kaum urban. Maka dari itu, pengintegrasian antar fungsi tersebut dengan ruang komunal sebagai wadah komunitas di Kota Palembang menjadi titik berat pada perancangan ini. Shopping Center akan menggabungkan konsep open-air yaitu konsep yang menitikberatkan pada aktivitas berjalan kaki di lingkungan terbuka serta bangunan yang memadukan unsur open space, pedestrian, dan retail. Lalu, dalam penyusunan perletakan retail akan dirancang circular sehingga dapat menghasilkan sebuah ruang komunal terbuka pada pusat bangunan serta retail yang saling berhubungan dengan pola memusat. Fasad bangunan disesuaikan dengan konsep arsitektur modern yang didasarkan pada ruang terbuka hijau yang diintegrasikan dengan ruang komunal.
