Abstract

Research on the Diversity of Moss Plants (Bryophyta) in Bedegung Waterfall, Muara Enim and Its Contribution to High School Biology Learning it has been carried out in March-April 2021 which aims to determine the types of mosses plants and the diversity of mosses in the Bedegung Waterfall area. This type of research is an exploratory research that uses descriptive methods. The types of mosses found were 23 species belonging to 10 order and 18 families. The moss plants that were found were Marchantia polymorpha L., Scapania gracilis Lindb., Schiostochilopsis incisa., Lophocolea bidentata L., Saccogyna viticulosa L., Pallavicinia lyellii., Frullania meyeniana., Porella navicularis., Floribundaria floribundula., Fissidens dubius., Rhynchostegium confertum., Pseudoscleropodium purum., Brachythecium velutinum., Homaliodendron flabellatum., Haplohymenium triste., Rhizogonium spiniforme., Philonotis hastata., Hyophila involute., Hyophila apiculate., Octoblepharum albidum., Calymperes couguiense., Calymperes polisotii., and Grimmia torquata. The moss diversity index (Shannon-Wiener) in the Bedegung Waterfall area belongs to the medium category with the diversity of individual species in zone 1 = 2.502; zone 2= 2.118; zone 3 = 2,349 and zone 4 = 2.124. Thus the total diversity index (H') = 2.822. The results of this study are used as information about the diversity of mosses in the Bedegung Waterfall area and to provide additional knowledge for students in studying high school biology subjects on moss plant material for class X Basic Competence 3.8. The donations were in the form of an identification guide (Booklet) and a wet herbarium in the Bedegung Waterfall area, Muara Enim.
