Abstract

Baekground: cenical cancer is a disease that is difficult to detect and has impact on all aspects of life botli ph-vsical. psvchological, social and spiritual. Cen ical cancer patreiits experience a physical facet of pain. Nursing inten'entions that can be given to reduce pain are SSBM (slorv stroke back massage). since cancer patients also require nonpharmacological intcnentions rvith a lairli corect porLion. ln addition to medication or pht'sical care . Purpose: the purpose of this scientific rvork is to applr, nursing to care in cases of cenical cancer and pain management using SSBM, in accordance rvilh cvidcnce based. Methods: using qualilative descriptive methods r.rith case stud;, approach. Results: there are 7 nursing problems raised in all &rce caries ([,4rs l. N4rs. E. and N,{rs. R rvith cenical cancer) that consist of one cornmon complaint of pain. Inten'entions are gir-en to reduce pain ur patients mana-eed b1' ursrn-e SSBh,{ (slorr stroke back nrassage) therapl'. After the mrsins inten ention lvas given, there u'as a decre asc in [re pain scale of the three patients managed. Discussion: SSBM thcrapr is a nrassage teclnique that is done b1'grving slorv, fimr, rhvthmic strokes with both hands using the tapping method at ccrtain points on the bod1.. SSB1\4 has fir,e movements: First straight molement from bottorn to top- sccond prcss r,rrth the thumb. up and trvist and then down- third cross from bottom to top. forrth zigzag from bottom to top and fifth or last- massagc extends dor,vnward starting from up r.vith both pakns thcn straight dorvn. Conclusion: the three patients managed rvere gl\'en nurslng care thats consisled of assessment. nursing diagnosis enforcement. plamring implementation and evaluation. Thc implications of SSBM (Slorv SLroke Back Massage) shou'ed tliat there is a decrease in the pain scale (from a score of 7 to a score of 3 and a score of 5 to a scorc of 21 in the tlrree patients managed.
