Abstract

This research aims to prove the difference in the motivation of learning of students indekos with students who live with parents in the Economic Education University of Sriwijaya. This research is comparative research with a quantitative approach. Data collection techniques used in questionnaires and interviews. Validation of the instrument using the Product Moment Correlation formula and reliability test using the Spearman Brown (Split Half Method) formula. The population in this study is all Students of Economic Education University sriwijaya which amounted to 62 people consisting of 31 students indekos and 31 students who live with parents. Data variable X1 (Student Learning Motivation Indexos) and variable X2 (Student Learning Motivation Living With Parents) using questionnaires and interviews. The results of this study showed that there was a difference in the motivation to study students indekos with students who live with parents in the Economic Education University of Sriwijaya. Student learning motivation indekos has an average of 80.71, while students who live with parents have an average of 84. The hypothesis using parametric statistics the t-test is obtained that t_hitung=-8.09 ≤ t _tabel=1.671 then Ha was rejected and Ho accepted.
