Abstract

Efforts to improve the nutritional status of the community including reducing the prevalence of stunting are one of the national development priorities listed in the main targets of the 2015-2019 Medium-Term Development Plan, but the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia is still above the maximum limit of the WHO standard, which is above 20%. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors related to the role of health workers in preventing stunting in elementary school children in Tuah Negeri District, Musi Rawas Regency. Method: This research method is analytic observational with cross sectional approach. The population in the study was 63 health workers at the Air Beliti Health Center. Sampling was carried out using simple random sampling, with the calculation of the sample size using the Slovin formula totaling 55 health workers. The tool used in this research is a questionnaire. With statistical analysis of chi square test and multivariate analysis using logistic regression test. Result: The results obtained from 55 respondents that 45.5% were not good at the role of health workers in stunting prevention efforts, and there was a relationship between attitudes and the role of health workers in stunting prevention (p value = 0.043 with OR = 4,000). The results of the logistic regression test showed that the dominant variable affecting the role of health workers was the attitude of health workers (Exp(B) = 1,378). Conlusion: The conclusion of the research results is that health workers need to enrich their experience and conduct/follow training related to stunting prevention efforts.
