Abstract
The incidence of Coronavirus Diseases 2019 (COVID-19) continues to increase and attacks various groups of people, including pregnant women and infants. The postnatal period is a critical phase and the period of adaption for extrauterine life. Infants born to mothers with suspected/confirmed COVID-19 should be bathed as soon as possible. Bathing infants immediately after birth can have an influence on adaptation to extrauterine life. The differences in bathing time and absence of research on the influence of immediately bathing in baby with mothers suspected/confirmed COVID-19 are the reasons for this research. This study aims to determine the influence of bathing immediately in baby with mothers suspected/confirmed COVID-19 on adaptation as seen from changes in temperature. The study design used was a retrospective cohort study by using the Pearson chi square and the Mann Whitney test. The sample in this study was baby with mothers suspected/confirmed COVID-19 and not in RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang on May 2020–July 2021. The results of this study is there is no influence of bathing immediately after birth in baby with mothers suspected/confirmed COVID-19 on adaptation.
