Abstract

Background. Meningioma is one of the most frequently encountered types of brain tumors. This study aims to provide an overview of the characteristics of Meningioma patients in RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Method. This study uses a descriptive observational type of research with a cross-sectional research design. Results. Meningioma was most widely diagnosed in the 41–50-year-old age group (46.9%) and the female sex (89.6%). The initial symptom experienced by the most patients was headache (44.8%). As many as 94.8% of patients have no history of Meningioma in their family. In addition, Meningioma locations were found most in convexity (56.3%) with the most grade I classifications (84.9%) and outcome KPS score of 100 (50%). Conclusion. The study provided an overview of the characteristics of Meningioma patients by age, gender, initial symptoms, family history, location, WHO grade, and outing.
