Abstract
Background: The COVID-19 vaccine can induce immunity actively and specifically against SARS-CoV-2 virus. We can measure levels of antibody that specific to SARS-CoV-2, but this antibody level is different in each person. Various factors can influence this antibody response, such as sleep duration and insomnia status. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between sleep duration and insomnia to antibody response after COVID-19 vaccination. Methods: Seventy healthy participants received 2-doses COVID-19 vaccine (Corona Vac). Each participants were interviewed about sleep duration a month before vaccination, sleep duration in the same day after two doses vaccine, and insomnia status was assessed using Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) questionnaire. The 3 cc of blood samples were drawn (a month after two doses of vaccine) from participants to assess level of IgG anti-S RBD SARS CoV-2. Antibody levels were measured using Architect TM i2000 analyzer from Abott. Clinical protective status in this study is ≥ 840 AU/ml Result: The result showed that 54,3% participants had short sleep duration a month before vaccination, 57,1% partcipants had normal sleep duration in the same day after two doses of vaccine. Insomnia was found in 20,3% participants and 51,4% participants had lower antibody levels. Analysis using chi-square test showed that there was not significant relationship (p>0,05) between sleep duration and insomnia to antibody response after COVID-19 vaccination. Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between sleep duration and insomnia status to antibody response after COVID-19 vaccination.
