Abstract
The object of this research were to know the effect of various irrigate and spacing plant to soil total nitrogen, growth and production of paddy (var. Fatmawati) pursuant to it’s analysis so that it could applied in field. This research was conducted on June to September 2004 in Harjowinangun’s irrigation farming area, Subdistrict of Belitang, District of Eastem Ogan Komering Ulu. The result of this research show that soil fertility is low which is indicated by soil acidity (4,3-4,5), either do soil total N ( 1,64 %-l,86 %). Treatment of various irrigate is not significant to the maximum paddy’s height (8 MST), but it is significant to it’s spacing treatment (T2), that is 109,94 cm. The continuous flow (II) and spacing plant (Tl) treatment are significant to the sum up maximum growth of paddy, that is 10 paddy in every clump. Rate of absorption crop nitrogen is not significant not either do in various irrigate and spacing plant treatment, that is 1,69%-1,81 %. Sum up the seed is not significant neither do in various irrigate and spacing plant treatment. Sum up the seed in various irrigate treatment (13) at most 282 seed in every seed handle and spacing plant (T2) that is 280 seed in every seed handle. Percentage of rice is not significant in various irrigate treatment, but it is significant m spacing plant (T2), that is 77,54 %. Both trcatmcnt is not significant to the weight 1000 rice item, that is ranging from 31,24 - 34,01 gram. The production of rice in every hectare is not significant in various irrigate trcatmcnt, neither do in spacing plant treatment is significant, that is 9,99 ton/hectare. The macak-macak treatment (13) and spacing plant in range 20 x 10 cm (T1) is best treatment in absorbtion of N, availability of soil total-N, and rice production if we compare it with continuous flow (II), intermitten (12) and spacing plant in range 20 x 20 cm (Tl).
