Abstract

ABSTRACT The relationship between dysmenorrhea intensity and learning activities among the 2018 class in Faculty of Medicine at Sriwijaya University (Yusron Haris, December 2021, 80 pages) Sriwijaya University School of Medicine Background: Dysmenorrhea is a pain in the uterine area that occurs during menstruation. Pain when experiencing dysmenorrhea can occur before or after menstruation. When experiencing dysmenorrhea, a person can experience a decrease in learning concentration and will affect their learning activities. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the intensity of dysmenorrhea and the learning activities of the 2018 FK Unsri students. Methods: This study uses a cross-sectional method with the research sample being FK Unsri 2018 students. From 160 students, there is 75 female who meets the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The sampling method uses a questionnaire that will be answered by each sample. Statistical analysis used was chi-square test and had a significant relationship if p<0.05. Results: The prevalence of dysmenorrhea found in FK Unsri students in the 2018 batch was 111 people (69.375%) aged 20-23 years. The age of menarche for 10-year-old female students is 74 people (98.7%), the length of menstrual bleeding for female students <7 days is 44 people (58.7%). Students who experienced dysmenorrhea experienced the most pain with moderate degrees, namely 43 people (57.3%), and their learning activities were disrupted when experiencing dysmenorrhea as many as 50 people (66.7%). This study found that there was a significant relationship between the intensity of dysmenorrhea and student learning activities. Conclusion: there is a relationship between the intensity of dysmenorrhea and the learning activities of the 2018 FK Unsri students.
