Abstract

The problem of infiltration, air embolism and infusion fluids that run out but are too late to be handled by nurses are currently still a problem in hospitals. If the problem is handled too late, it will cause harm to the patient such as phlebitis, venous irritation, hematoma, thrombosis and etc. This study has produce a prototype monitoring device for infiltration, air embolism and the amount of fluid in the infusion in an effort to prevent harm to patients. The purpose of this research is to develop a prototype monitoring for infiltration, air embolis and the number of fluids in infusation. This study used a descriptive research design with a research and development approach using the ADDIE. Prototype model this tool is equipped with an alarm and an application on the monitor screen as information that will inform nurses about the state of the infusion related to infiltration, air embolism and the amount of remaining fluid. This tool is proven to be effective for reading and providing info related to the condition of the infusion by testing on each part of the tool 9 times each and getting an average of less than 2 seconds to detect.
