Abstract

One of the causes of the incidence of dengue fever is poor environmental sanitation. Mariana Health Center is one of the health centers in Banyuasin Regency with high dengue cases. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between home environmental sanitation and the incidence of dengue fever in the working area of the Mariana Health Center, Banyuasin Regency, in 2021. This study was a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design and a cluster random sampling method; the sample consisted of 322 residents who resided in the work area. Mariana Health Center. Data were obtained from filling out questionnaires and conducting field observations. Data analysis was performed univariate and bivariate using the chi-square test. The results showed a relationship between home environmental sanitation and the incidence of dengue fever in the work area of the Mariana Health Center, Banyuasin Regency. The following results of the study were included: lighting (p = 0,049) and PR ( 95% CI) = 0,247 (0,061-1,005), temperature (p = 0,000) and PR (95% CI) = 1,190 (1,122-1,262), the habit of hanging clothes (p = 0,040) and PR (95% CI) = 5,640 (0,790-40,251), condition of water reservoirs (p = 0,032) and PR (95%CI) = 3,531 (1,109-11,243). Based on the results of this study, it is recommended to the community to prevent the occurrence of dengue fever. To the Mariana Health Center officers: improve environmental health programs and mosquito nest eradication programs in the Mariana Health Center work area to reduce the incidence of DHF.
